Endeavour: The name of the ship Captain Cook was sailing when he "discovered" Australia.
Convict: Prisoners who were sent to Australia to serve their jail time.
First Fleet: The name given to the eleven ships which first set sail from England to colonise
Australia.
Pardoned: When a convict has had his or her prison sentence
removed before time and has become a free person.
